Why is the turnaround time so long? Each pillow is custom made just for you. It takes approximately 2-2.5 hours to cut, sew, and embroider/applique each pillow. I complete items in the order in which they are received. I work as quickly as I can without sacrificing quality and craftsmanship. During slower times you will receive your item(s) more quickly. During busy times your item(s) will take longer to arrive. Please reach out if you need your item(s) sooner. I offer a few Rush Order spots for an additional fee.
Why are custom pillows expensive? I use high-quality home decor fabrics, which come at a higher cost. In addition, each pillow is cut, sewn, and embroidered/appliqued just for you. The price reflects the high-quality materials, time, talent, and experience involved with custom work.
I don't see the color I need to match my decor. I have provided a sampling of popular colors. However, I am happy to source other colors that may work better with your decor. Please reach out to rebecca@balancedstitches.com to discuss what you are looking for.

I would like to order a 12"x18" applique name pillow for a name with 6 letters. If you would like to order a smaller size pillow for a longer name, the size of the letters will have to be reduced significantly, which may not give you the look you are hoping for. Please reach out to me at rebecca@balancedstitches.com to discuss your options prior to placing an order.
What size insert do I need for my pillow cover? Pillow covers are made slightly smaller than the insert in order to fill out the pillow cover nicely. If ordering an insert from my shop, select the pillow insert size that matches the pillow cover size ordered. For example, if you order a 12x18 pillow, select the pillow insert that says "Insert for 12x18 pillow". The actual size of the insert is 13x19. Can I wash my pillow cover in the washing machine? I recommend spot cleaning your pillow cover. There is a high chance that the fabric colors will bleed together if washed in the washing machine. It's better to be safe than sorry!
Where are the pillow covers made? Each pillow cover is cut, sewn, and embroidered/appliqued in my studio in Severna Park, Maryland.
Can I return/exchange my pillow cover if I change my mind or the colors are not how they appeared on my computer? No. Due to the custom nature of the pillow covers, returns/exchanges are not accepted. If you have a specific color you would like to match, please reach out to rebecca@balancedstitches.com. Samples are available for a small fee.
Can I return/exchange my pillow cover if I misspelled the name or provided the wrong monogram? No. It is your responsibility to check, check, and double check that all names and monograms are written correctly. Is a personalized pillow a great gift? Absolutely! Who doesn't love a gift that is made just for them? A personalized pillows is a wonderful addition to any home.
